Vietnam

Think of Vietnam and you may conjure up images of lush rice paddies and farm workers wearing their conical straw hats that are so indicative of the region. These peaceful and serene scenes still play out everyday in the countryside filled with fields, fruit orchards, fertile deltas, and mountains. But while life seems to be as traditional as ever in the countryside, cities are modernizing at a rapid pace. Bustling Ho Chi Minh City in the south, and Hanoi, with its lovely French Colonial architecture in the north, both boast world-class deluxe hotels, wonderful dining options, and a multitude of things to see and do in the city and nearby environs. Ride through the old quarter in a cyclo, cruise Halong Bay in a traditional style junk, and visit the charming town of Hoi An on the South Central Coast, designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. With this and much more it is no wonder that Vietnam has become one of Southeast Asia’s most popular destinations.
